Emmett now has words. Well, one word to be exact. He can wave and say, "Hi." He's been doing this for a week now. We weren't sure if it was a fluke or if he was talking but he's been doing this pretty consistently. His timeliness on this is still a little sketchy...he'll be playing and then bust out with the waving and "hi" out of no where but he also does it when he sees me or Ben walk into the room. So he gets points for practicing.
Emmett also has a new girlfriend. It's a girl in a book. She's waving hi. He will find this book and hand it to me or Ben and wants us to read it to him. When we turn to this page he starts waving hi to her and then kisses the page. Should I tell him that he doesn't stand a chance with her? No need to burst his bubble yet, I guess. For now, I will encourage this love affair since it encourages him to read (or look at books).
We also extended his play area. This area now includes the kitchen and all of the toys that come with it. He likes to play with pots, pans, colanders and strainers. He was quite proud to discover he could sit in the frying pan the other day.

she is cute though in her yellow outfit.
He is totally cute and definitely has a chance with that chick. Some models aren't that smart, though...so maybe he wouldn't be interested once he got to know her.
I think that little girl is waving 'bye'. Like 'bye-bye, I am playing hard to get. Better luck next time lill' Buddie!
