6 Months!

Emmett is now 6 months old. My how time flies. He's a big tub of chubby and when the Dr. saw him the other day she said, "Hi Emmett! Where is your neck?" You see, his face is so chubby that you can't see his neck. But he has a neck for sure. That's where he stores all of his favorite items like lint, spit and milk junk.

Here are his stats:
Weight: 16 lbs. 1 ounce (he's gained 1lb 3 ounces since his 4 month check up) 50th percentile
Height: 27 inches (60th-75th percentile)
Head Circumference: I can't remember the measurement number but it was in the 75th percentile.

He also received 2 shots and hardly cried at all. What a trooper!

Just a quick post from Daddy (so choice!) Today we experienced a record nap: 2.5HRS this morning. He only pulled it off for these three reasons (as best I can surmise):

• He had a fresh diaper before going down
• He had 5oz of milk in his stomach
• He knew daddy was trying to meet up with friends at a specific time

Ah such is baby!

After he woke, we went to Esprit Park where we played some bocce with Usama on a nice, sunny day here in the Dogpatch (the name of our neighborhood). We came back after an hour.

When we got home, he pounded another 5oz and went down for another 45 min. What a good little boy!

Chew Toys

I can't believe how fast time goes by. I had a lot of parents, especially moms tell me to enjoy each day because they grow up so quickly and it's true. Emmett is almost 6 months and that's freaking me out!! We are getting ready to feed solids next week once we get the okay from the Dr. So Emmett's latest trick has been drooling and chewing. His favorite past time includes screaming and chewing on his toys. It's like I have a dog (almost).

When ever I get out the camera he goes from happy, smiley baby to this. Nothing. He just stares at me like I'm crazy.

Hello. I'm reading my book. Please leave me alone so I can have some quiet time.

I shall eat my book once you are not looking. This book is very tasty. Needs some salt though.

I swear this is not a dog's toy. He likes to chew on the bone.

I'm working on putting some pics of Emmett from the last 6 months to see how much he has changed. Stay tuned!

What's this thing in my mouth?

Emmett has discovered his tongue! He likes to stick it out and slobber everywhere. I went and bought a bunch of bibs and he goes through 3-4 a day!

Huh? What do you want me to do?

Emmett Giggles!

Emmett has been smiling for a while now. He shows his delight by opening his mouth but usually no sound comes out. I was finally able to get a giggle from him a few weeks ago!

Visiting Aunt Sherry's = Torture for Emmett

You are not part of the family until you have been thoroughly humiliated and tortured as a baby. The initiation and hazing involves hats and wigs. Emmett received his first round of hazing this past weekend.

I am a sherpa. Where are your bags?

I am not a girl.

Emmett has the same expression on his face for every picture. I wonder what he's thinking....(get this crazy lady away from me).
